Kobe

Taking care of Kobe requires just a little bit of extra care. He needs a home with carpet, so he
can move around comfortably. He also likes someone to take him outside to potty, especially
if there are any stairs outside. Kobe cannot really navigate stairs, so he is looking for a home
that either does not have stairs or where he can be carried up and down those stairs. Gates
to block the stairs keep him safe.

Kobe has been managing his discomfort with a combination of muscle relaxers and pain
medicine. The acupuncture has been helpful for him as well. He currently sees the
acupuncturist weekly, but that can taper down as the treatment progresses.

We don't see any reason why Kobe should not have the opportunity to find a home of his
own. We have learned a lot about his condition, which you can read about
here. The
prognosis, as said so well by Dr. Palmatier, is that Kobe is not looking for a cure, he's just
looking for a way to live with his handicap. We feel very lucky to have been able to know Kobe
in rescue, and we are hopeful that a very special person will take him into their home."
"Kobe is a special pug with some special needs, but nothing that is holding him
back from enjoying and leading as full of a life as possible. Kobe absolutely
loves having a family. He is a devoted little companion to who ever is his
caretaker. It doesn't look like it, but Kobe can move quite fast on a good
surface (carpet), and he even likes to chase after the tennis ball or stuffed
toys. He can play some tug with a rope too! Kobe has a lot of love to give, and
he is enjoying life. His handicap can be a little startling at first, but Kobe loves
life and is not ready to give up. He has adjusted to the way he gets around,
and if you are okay, he is okay.
